Free Care And Home Offer For Octuplets Turned Down
Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman has rejected free, 24-hour care for her 14 children from a nonprofit nurses’ group.
The offer, which expired at midnight on Thursday, also included a new home.
Angels in Waiting, who specialize in the care of premature babies, made the offer two weeks ago. It would of relied on public donations to help support the infants.
The group, who are represented by Attorney Gloria Allred, said that Ms. Suleman seemed to be more interested in appearing in a reality show.
Founder, Linda West-Conforti, said that they would not agree to that as they were concerned that the babies immunity would be at risk.
Suleman has been in the press this week talking about her concerns that her babies would not be released due to speculations that she would not be able to provide adequate support.
It has also been revealed that the house she has been living in with her parents is now in danger of foreclosure.
The hospital have said that all eight babies are doing well, and are feeding well.

Student Gives Birth In Shower And Leaves Baby In Bag
A 19-year-old student gave birth in a shower and placed her baby into a bag of dirty clothes at her dormitory in the University of Arizona this week.
Sarah Tatum was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempted first-degree murder and child abuse.
When questioned by police, she told them that she had a miscarriage and that the baby was tied in a bag at the bottom of her bed.
Police cut open the bag to find a baby boy who was full term gasping for air. He was suffering from hypoxia, a lack of oxygen.
It is believed that the baby had been in the bag for at least two hours, and was taken to hospital to be monitored.
Tatum kept her pregnancy secret and did not seek prenatal care. She told the police that she thought that the baby had died in the shower.
“We all thought she was pregnant, and when we would walk into the room she would turn and not face us,” student Jamie Perez, 19 said. “When people confronted her, she said that it was a thyroid problem.”
Tatum has been released from jail and is not allowed to have contact with the child until she can prove she is mentally sound. She has been suspended from the University and is not permitted to return to campus.
The state of Arizona has a Safe Haven law that allows parents to abandon their unharmed baby within 72 hours of birth with no questions asked.
If a baby is left at a fire station, hospital, adoption agency, church with the Safe Haven logo, or surrendered to an emergency medical technician in uniform - there are no legal penalties.

A baby who has been named, “Grace” was discovered inside a plastic carrier bag by children outside a flat in Brixton, South London.
Officers said the girl was about a day old and was black or Asian and is healthy in hospital.
Police said the baby was wrapped in a blue blanket and placed inside a Tesco carrier bag.
Police said the baby was drinking milk and there seemed to be no long-term damage after she was left outside.
Insp Simon Rooke from Lambeth Police, said: “She was very, very cold but, due to the speedy discovery by these children, she was brought to hospital very quickly and treated.”
Mr Rooke said the children who found the baby in the morning were, “Pleased to have helped”. Baby Grace was crying when the children found her on the doorstep.
Inspector Rooke appealed for the mother to come forward so that she could receive appropriate medical attention.
“We may be looking at heavy blood loss and the sooner we can locate her the sooner she can get medical help,” he said.
Officers believe the infant was left outside the flat after 0430 GMT and are studying the CCTV footage in the area.
Police were conducting house-to-house enquiries.
A neighbour, Maria Lewis, who lives close to where Grace was found said she was found by the son of her neighbour, Lourdes Marquez, who does not speak English.
Mrs Lewis said Mrs Marquez called her for help after looking in the bag and seeing something move.
Mrs Lewis said: “I looked in and I saw the side of a face and I just panicked and called the police.”

An Indian woman aged just 20 and in the depths of poverty sold her newborn son to a childless couple for 6,000 rupees (120 dollars).
Rajitha, delivered the baby by Cesarean section last week in the town of Kothagudem and could not afford the 2,000 rupee (40 dollar) hospital fee. She sold the baby to pay medical bill for the birth.
The driver of a rickshaw gave her money for the baby, which he planned to raise with his wife. The couple have no children.
The incident occurred in the parliamentary constituency of India’s minister of state for women and child development Renuka Chowdhury.
Police interrogated the woman in the local hospital, 270 kilometers (170 miles) from the state capital Hyderabad, where she told them her husband had abandoned her and she had no means to support herself and a baby.
Police said they would take action against the hospital.
“Buying and selling a baby is an offence, so we will be booking cases,” Kothagudem revenue division officer P. Rajaram said.
Welfare officials want the baby to be reunited with his mother so she can breastfeed him. They said the mother and child would then be shifted to a state-run facility where Rajitha can decide if she wants to put the baby up for adoption.
